The key to this trick is Speed. I mean blistering speed. Like "Dude I'm really fully powered up" speed. Start going downwind looking for the back of a chop to pop off. Lean over the downwind rail and sheet in with you back hand to keep your speed up.

As soon as you feel the nose of the board going up the back of a steep piece of chop, push hard on you back leg to pop the board, and swing the mast across your body into the wind.
Push the clew hard into the wind with your backhand, turning your head and shoulders upwind and towards the tail, in order to initiate your body rotation.

Keep pushing on the backhand and kick your board downwind with both legs, bending the back one to prevent the nose of the board from touching the water.

The more speed you have at take-off, the higher, faster and easier the rotation will be.
Momentum. All you have to do now is wait to come back down and land clean. Try bending your legs to absorb the impact upon landing, leaning slightly to the back to land tail first and soften the process.

Keep your body centred and sail away clean and watch out for small buoys in your way!

Once you got them on lock, you can also try them on waves, doing them off the lip, and landing proper Goiters in front of the wave. Like a wise man once said, 'Repetition is the key to success' Good luck and have fun!
