The Ponch was one the first adaptions of a wave move to flat water in the new skool freestyle revolution.

Its twin brother, the Goiter, was prized among top old school wavesailors like Rush Randall, Dave Kalama and Mark Pedersen, but it bounced back into the spotlight after Young Guns like Kauli, Ricardo and Brawnzinho brought the Ponch back to the waves.

To this very day, the Ponch still packs a punch. It's still one of the top moves in competition, especially with the new PWA PowerMoves format. The trick itself doesn't really need much technique, just full commitment and the growth of some balls for early attempts, where it usually goes pretty bad.
